    Description

Johnny Bench Cincinnati Reds and Sparky Anderson Cincinnati Reda HOF signed Hand Painted MLB Home plate
with Letter of Authenticity from James J. Spence, Jr. JSA and Heritage Auctions Galleries: "Johnny Bench Signed home plate painting. Offered is a wonderful piece of original artwork, that has been executed not on a canvas but a home plate.  Hall of Famer's Johnny Bench, and Sparky Anderson are the depictions main characters.  Sparky ponders who to bring in from the bull pen as Bench patiently waits, hands on hips.  Johnny has also added a black sharpie signature and his Hall of Fame induction year.  The dimensions of the plate are 20" wide and 20" high at it's peak.  Plate is also signed by artist Doug Brewer."
Signed by Johnny Bench in black "Johnny Bench HOF 1989",
    Plate dimension is: 19 5/8" x 20 1/8" at the widest points.
This is a one-of-a-kind hand painted Full Size Schutt Home Plate by Doug Brewer from Phoenix Arizona in 2004.  The image shows a lot of detail. Please look at the photos carefully.  Ask all questions before bidding.
This is from my personal collection.  I am not a dealer. I am selling a bunch of items that I have collected over the years.
THE WINNER OF THIS AUCTION WILL RECEIVE A PICTURES VIA EMAIL OF JOHNNY BENCH SIGNING THIS PLATE. THIS IS BETTER THAN AN AUTHENTICATION STICKER.
I purchased an official full-size Schutt Home Plate from the company for the artist to paint.  The original home plate is bright white. The artist paints the entire plate a beige color.  It makes the image of the player appear better.  After the plate was painted it was my job to travel the country wherever the player was doing a signing to have it autographed.  Because they are autographing on a painted item, sometimes the players pressed too hard or used their own pens. Because of this the autographs are sometimes not like they would be if the signature was on a photograph where the pen rolls smoothly.  I have taken a close up picture of each autograph. PLEASE LOOK AT THE AUTOGRAPH AND EACH PICTURE CLOSELY BEFORE BIDDING.
These plates traveled with me in suitcases on airplanes and to baseball conventions and card shows to get signed.  There may be an imperfection somewhere on the plate.  All of the plates are very attractive and would be a great addition to anyone's collection as they are very unique.
Please ask all questions before bidding or buying.
