Description
On August 8, 1988 the lights came on at Wrigley Field for the first time, making the Chicago Cubs the last team to play home games at night. The Cubs hosted the Phillies, with the Cubs having Hall of Famers Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, and Greg Maddux on their roster. This plastic mug was sold on Opening night. The mug measures 5 inches tall and measures 3 inches in diameter. I believe it holds 12 ounces, but it may be 10 ounces. One side has the Old Style logo. The other side reads, “The Night the Lights Went On At Wrigley Field 8-8-88 1st Night Game.” This is a rare piece of memorabilia from a significant date in Chicago Cubs history.
