Description
Nice prints of "ANIMAL CRACKERS" show up here at intervals but it's unlikely you've ever seen a 16mm print as nice as this one. This is an original, newly struck on mylar stock. The audio is loud and strong despite Paramount's not yet having mastered the intricacies of sound recording; Zeppo turns his head from side to side while speaking at one point and it's clear that a stationary mic. was in use. As for the picture quality the photos I've included here are derived from the same source material as this print. These factors alone make this item worth having however what distinguishes it is its having been sourced from original never truncated British material. The American print was edited by Paramount in 1937 to remove what was then considered to be bits of suggestive double entendre type dialog. This print has not been edited and is presented exactly as it was when it premiered in 1930. The restored bits of dialog while in no way altering the familiar narrative are nevertheless fun to hear. The only splices are those where the reels were joined together and there is no interruption in continuity anything in either reel.
The print will be shipped on lab cores to reduce both weight and postal fees.
U.S.A. buyers only please unless you're willing to absorb the ferocious international shipping costs.
